Ocala, FL (PRWEB) June 05, 2014

Physician Partners announces a partnership with HealthFair to provide mobile preventive health screenings at no charge to more than 12,000 members of this plan across 12 counties in Central Florida. HealthFair, the national leader of mobile health screening services, provides these screenings to detect heart disease, stroke and other disease risk.

This program helps improve the quality of preventive care for the plan members by identifying health abnormalities earlier.

“We are excited to launch this program with HealthFair. It represents exactly what we are dedicated to providing our clients. This high-quality testing helps identify risks of disease that may have otherwise been unknown and life-threatening,” said Sidd Pagidipati, CEO Physician Partners.

“This program highlights how Physician Partners provides the accessibility and availability of care for their clients. By offering the flexibility and convenience of a mobile unit, they are able to offer this valuable preventive service that leads to informed healthcare decisions,” states Peter Vivaldi, HealthFair Director of Corporate Business Development.

Medicare Advantage members will be referred by their primary care physician (PCP) for specific tests based on their risk factors. There are a total of four tests that can be offered. These tests, valued around $2,000 if performed in a hospital setting, are offered at no charge for the clients through this partnership.

The four tests include an echocardiogram, abdominal aortic artery ultrasound, lower extremity arterial doppler (LEAD), and spirometry and pulmonary function test. These tests detect certain disease risks.

All results will be read by HealthFair’s board-certified physicians and sent to the consumer’s primary care physician.

Screenings start in Central Florida in June and continue through fall.
