“Target has made huge strides toward making natural, organic and sustainable products more accessible to consumers nationwide, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of that movement,” said Elizabeth Stein, founder and CEO of Purely Elizabeth.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 04, 2014
Purely Elizabeth (http://www.purelyelizabeth.com), a natural foods company committed to healthy eating, healthy living and a healthy planet, today announced that their line of Ancient Grain Granola will be available at Target stores nationwide beginning June 8. Purely Elizabeth’s granola – in original, pumpkin fig and cranberry pecan – will be sold at all 1,789 Target stores in the United States. Minneapolis-based Target Corporation is a leading retailer in philanthropy and sustainability, with stores in 49 states.
“Target has made huge strides toward making natural, organic and sustainable products more accessible to consumers nationwide, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of that movement,” said Elizabeth Stein, founder and CEO of Purely Elizabeth. “To be able to have a healthier breakfast alternative now available to such a wide customer base is quite an honor and speaks volumes to the shift in consumer demand for better-for-you products.”
Purely Elizabeth’s debut at Target stores marks another major milestone for the natural food company this year. According to SPINS, the leading provider of retail consumer insights, analytics and consulting for the Natural, Organic and Specialty Products Industry, Purely Elizabeth is the number one growth granola brand in the natural channel with a growth of 277 percent in 2013 (based on data over a 52 week period ending 12/21/2013 of the top 20 granola brands). Growth is expected to reach triple-digits again in 2014.
Baked by hand in small batches, Purely Elizabeth's Ancient Grain Granolas are free of refined sugar and use all-natural and organic ingredients, certified organic gluten-free oats and ancient grains and seeds including Salba chia seeds, puffed amaranth, hemp seeds and quinoa flakes.
“Purely Elizabeth was a true pioneer in using innovative, nutrient-rich ancient grains and superfood seeds in our products since they debuted four years ago,” continued Stein. “It’s been wonderful to see so many companies in the natural food industry embrace the use of these ingredients and realize what nutritional powerhouses they are.”
Additionally, instead of the typical bad-for-you oils and sweeteners found in most granolas in the marketplace, all flavors are made with organic coconut sugar, an unrefined, nutrient-rich, low-glycemic sweetener, and organic virgin coconut oil. Unlike other fats, unrefined coconut oil is high in medium-chain fatty acids that aid in weight loss, lower cholesterol, improve diabetic conditions and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Purely Elizabeth is also relocating their Manhattan, New York headquarters to Boulder, Colorado this month after recently moving the manufacturing of their products to Denver. Stein said of the company’s move, “Boulder really is the center of the natural food world, so we’re really excited to be moving our headquarters to such an inspiring city surrounded by young, innovative companies we know and admire. Having our operations and offices near our manufacturing facility is hugely beneficial as well from a strategic standpoint.”
