I can't stand on my feet & legs to cook over my stove. I'm so thankful for Meals on Wheels & the volunteers.

Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2014

Over 850 volunteers actively participate in our work, allowing every dollar spent to provide many dollars worth of services to older adults in Contra Costa County.

From sharing time with a lonely homebound elder once a week, delivering a warm meal each day to a frail shut-in, to rebuilding a dilapidated staircase for a diabetic senior who needs to get to his dialysis appointments, our volunteers have truly dedicated hearts. It takes generosity, understanding, empathy, compassion, patience, and dedication to be a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

It is a privilege to honor them at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event and BBQ on Thursday, June 19th at Heather Farm in Walnut Creek, CA.
