“Today I want to show you a little riff that will maybe make you stand out a little different from what you usually do," says Darville. “This is a little riff that I borrowed from Joe Perry of Aerosmith, from the song Walk This Way." This lick is based in the Major Pentatonic Scale in the key of B and Jacques demonstrates how to play it as follows; 7th fret of the 3rd string with first finger and do a hammer-on to the 8th fret with 2nd finger, 7th fret of the 2nd string with first finger to the 7th fret of the first string with first finger and then back to the 2nd string and then to the 11th fret of the first string with 4th finger, which is the Major Third of the scale, and finally he ends on the 10th fret of the 2nd string with 2nd finger, which is the seventh of the scale. Jacques says you should practice this lick in different places on the neck. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
