The Langharts of Durango Colorado have been fighting for their 24 year old daughter since her sudden death in 2011 was believed to be purportedly caused due to her use of the birth control NuvaRing. Wright & Schulte LLC who is currently representing women in NuvaRing lawsuits around the country has learned, through the Durnago Herald, that CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360º” will air a three part series on Erika Langhart’s sudden passing along with an in-depth look at NuvaRing and it's potentially dangerous side effects allegedly associated with the birth control device.

According to the Durango Herald, Erika Langhart, 24 of Durango, Colorado, was preparing to attend Georgtown University when she suffered two unexpected heart attacks and died in November of 2011. Erika's parents insist her death was caused due to her use of the birth control NuvaRing and have since filed a lawsuit that is now part of the 3800 NuavRing lawsuits pending litigation.
In February, Merck & Co., which manufactures NuvaRing, agreed to pay $100 million to settle all NuvaRing lawsuits across the country, for an average of $58,000 per case. The Langharts, however, told the Durango Herald that they refuse to settle with Merck. The Langharts have formed a nonprofit organization in Arizona called “Informed Choice for America,” to educate women about the potentially deadly side effects of NuvaRing. In addition to the Langharts, the CNN report will also interview others who say they lost family and friends because of the alleged blood-clotting side effects of NuvaRing. The three part series is scheduled to start airing tonight on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360º” and will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, where they will focus on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and NuvaRing. Followed by Thursday’s program, which will report on the American Medical Association and doctors’ roles regarding NuvaRing.
