POPAI’s First-Ever East Coast POP-UP Creative Gallery Winners

Point of Purchase Advertising International awarded seven Creative Award winners at their first POP-UP Creative Gallery in NYC.

In-store marketing truly is artistic, so we wanted to showcase our industry in a way that has never been seen before.

May 29, 2014 was a successful evening in NYC for Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI). Close to 200 people attended POPAI’s first-ever East Coast POP-UP Creative Gallery at the Metropolitan Pavilion’s Metropolitan Suite to help recognize creative in-store displays.

The event, hosted by POPAI and sponsored by TimBar Packaging & Display, Universal, Mechtronics, Timberland Co., Bish Creative Display, and SMP In-Store, created a buzz and re-established the power of in-store marketing to many brands, retailers and other marketing industry professionals.

“It was great seeing such innovative and effective displays in a gallery event," said Richard Winter, POPAI President. "In-store marketing truly is artistic, so we wanted to showcase our industry in a way that has never been seen before. We hope the brands and retailers who attended this event found the showcased displays effective and desirable for their products and stores.”

With more than 70 entries of 2D Design Boards (including sketches, final designs, etc.) and 3D displays (what is actually seen in stores), the event attendees had the task of voting for their favorite innovative in-store solutions to be named Gold, Silver, and Bronze “Creative Choice Award” Winners.

The POP-UP gallery, a 9,200 square foot gallery space, was curated with displays manufactured by POPAI members and non-members from across the nation, Canada, and even Belgium. Examples are Mountain Dew, Bath and Body Works, Dove and Crayola.

"It was great to see the mix of producers, retailers and brand marketers at a POPAI event," said Alan Foshay, Co-Chair of the POPAI East Coast POP-UP Creative Gallery Committee and VP Business Development at Rapid Displays. "We appreciate their support and look forward to hosting another POP-UP Creative Gallery in the near future."
