Philadelphia-area Technology Company Helps Small Business Owners Instantly Engage with Local Consumers Using New WiFi Technology

“Every business has to promote themselves and do some form of marketing,” D’Alfonso said. “Dollar for dollar this is the most cost effective form of advertising reaching this many people.”

From hospitality to retail and service related companies, small business owners always look for cost effective ways to bring in new customers and give past customers a reason to come back. A Philadelphia-area technology company with more than nine years’ experience in point of sale just might have the solution.

Social WiFi, Inc., a technology company based in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., has developed propriety WiFi management software creating a cost-effective WiFi marketing platform that enables small business owners and merchants to mass engage local consumers on their smartphones and mobile devices through WiFi.

Social WiFi, Inc. today announced the launch of E-Pay WiFi, a specialized WiFi hotspot broadcasting platform that offers local communities and consumers free WiFi in return for opting in to receive digital coupons, daily deals and offers from local merchants

“This completely changes the point of sale experience and monetizes free WiFi at the same time,” Michael D’Alfonso, President of Social WiFi, Inc. said. “Customers have come to expect free WiFi; we just developed a very cost effective way to monetize that process. Consumers shop locally when they need a haircut or want to order a large pizza. But what if merchants could build a massive database of local consumers’ mobile numbers and email addresses, then offer them a digital coupon or daily deal right there on the spot? Instead of just handing a customer a check at the end of the meal, why not shoot them a digital coupon directly to their smartphone thanking them for coming in and giving them a reason to come back.”

D’Alfonso’s team installs industrial grade access points, controlled by a propriety firmware over nine years in the making. This provides the WiFi in a merchant’s business enabling them to offer free WiFi to local consumers both inside and outside their location. Upon logging in, the consumer is directed to a custom created merchant landing page, requesting Facebook login or a mobile phone number. Consumers opt in to

receive digital coupons, daily deals and merchant offers from business subscribers. Social WiFi, Inc. then sends deal alerts and coupons directly to their mobile devices.

D’Alfonso added that his company has the ability to send digital coupons to hundreds of thousands of customers every day. “Digital coupons and offers are sent directly to the customers’ phones. All the customer has to do is redeem it with the server or cashier,” he added.

Having thoroughly researched the competition in this new technology, competitors in this field just hand their customers another lead generation list. E-Pay’s working experience has shown that merchants are just too busy to collect this data on their own.

Social WiFi, Inc.’s mobile marketing platform has broad appeal for industries including hospitality (restaurant, pizza shops, pubs, nightclubs), salons/hair dressers, hotels, ski lodges, health and fitness (gyms, yoga studios, personal fitness), convention industry (farmers markets, indoor and outdoor events), medical (spas, chiropractors, health facilities) and car dealerships (car washes, tire centers, auto repair centers) among others.

Current E-Pay WiFi platform users include merchants at two City Fitness Gym locations, a recent convention by The Philadelphia Bar, Nightlife & Hospitality Alliance, The Cutting Point Hair Salon and Secane Auto Repair.

“This truly is a win-win for our customers and our business,” said Stephen Colella, President of Secane Auto Repair. “Not only do our customers get free WiFi, they love the deals and coupons sent directly to their mobile devices. For us, we get a big return on a small investment. Great use of our marketing dollar.”
