The GooiNation Street Team World Tour moves to Stockholm and Tokyo this week with Mygooi team members invading key areas of those cities, handing out t-shirts, taking pictures and video, and meeting current and future members of GooiNation, according to Mygooi.com.
Mygooi, the cloud-based technology brand with headquarters in Chennai, India, and Des Moines, Iowa, USA, is visiting neighborhoods around the world to highlight its variety of “disruptive” networking and the upcoming release of its mobile device platform.
This Saturday (June 7), GooiNation will be making people smile in and around Stortorget in Stockholm’s Old Town, says Jon Buscall, Mygooi chief marketing officer, who is part of that team. “It’s great to be able to do this the day after Swedes celebrate their National Day,” he says. "We’re hoping that plenty of people will come along, say hello and pick up a t-shirt. We’ll be in the square from noon.”
Mygooi considers Stockholm, one of Europe’s most digital capitals, a perfect place to go gooi. “The founders of Skype and Spotify are from Sweden, and Sweden prides itself on its flourishing app development community,” Buscall says.
On the other side of the world, a team led by Sebastian Benedikz is in Tokyo, where it will spend Thursday (June 5) at the early morning fish market in Tsukiji. Benedikz says his team has already walked around Shibuya and Shimokitaxawa, two trendy areas of the city, talking to local residents and tourists. It has also gone to a sumo morning practice session and visited Akihabara, the central Tokyo district noted for electronics stores and anime and manga fan culture.
“We’re bringing all cultures together in GooiNation,” says Mygooi CEO Paul N. Greenwood. “The tour is ‘disruptive’ networking at its best; it gets people out of their comfort zone.” The street team is visiting a growing range of cities in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, India, China and other nations.
Adds Buscall, “The public is embracing the gooiness we’re continuing to share with our friends around the world. The team has received a brilliant reaction on the streets so far with people from all walks of life stopping to say hello, grab a t-shirt and share a smile. We’re making people happy with the energy and openness we’re bringing.”
