Business functionality which underpinned both their current customer relationships, and helped develop new ones was a key driver for CTI Group. They were becoming increasingly concerned that their existing SugarCRM lacked this focus and that it concentrated more on new features such as social integration which offered them no value in their B2B environment.
By migrating to SuiteCRM, the world's most powerful open source CRM application, CTI Group have since gained a more agile product, a more supportive supplier and lost none of the key functionality that the Enterprise Edition delivered. SuiteCRM's core focus on business functionality and CTI Group’s existing relationship with SalesAgility, the authors of SuiteCRM, were also strong factors in influencing the decision.

As a long established user of SugarCRM Enterprise Edition, CTI Group were closely engaged with SugarCRM through user conferences since 2008. The SugarCRM instance was hosted on-premise and had in excess of 150 users. A 20gb database with more than 2.5 million records was migrated.
Data migration between SuiteCRM and Enterprise Edition was realtively easy to achieve, however, custom scripts were required for the migration of Quotes, Products, Teams and Custom Modules. CTI had created Studio built custom modules that were essential to the business and these migrated seamlessly to SuiteCRM. SugarCRM extensions from SugarForge were completely compatible with SuiteCRM.
After several meetings, careful planning and a proof-of-concept, SalesAgility were awarded the contract to migrate to SuiteCRM. The project was executed with a three person team and the migration timeline from inception to go live was 16 working days.
The project was delivered on time, on budget and to specification and the payback time for the project was approximately 3 months.
