Windsor Marketing Group Honored With Business Champions Award
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) June 05, 2014 -- Windsor Marketing Group (WMG), an innovative in-store marketing group based in Suffield, CT, was honored at the 12th Annual Business Champions Award breakfast in the Workforce practices category.
The high-profile event was held on June 5 at the Connecticut Convention Center and featured welcoming remarks from Gov. Daniel P. Malloy.
The ceremony annually recognizes the achievements of the region’s privately-held companies. WMG was selected from nearly 60 companies that had been nominated in various categories.
Windsor Marketing Group was founded in 1976 as an innovative in-store marketing group that creates, produces, and delivers shopper marketing programs that inspire and influence in-store buying patterns. The company utilizes cutting-edge technologies and creative innovations to assist its nearly 200 associates in serving over 3,000 retailers in the United States, including many of the nation’s largest retailers.
The company was honored as the recipient of the Best Workforce Practices award as selected by the Metro Hartford Alliance and Hartford Business Journal, celebrating WMG for its unique approach to engaging and incentivizing its employees.
WMG Founder and CEO Kevin Armata accepted the award which was presented by Mickey Herbert of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
“We are honored to be recognized for our workforce practices,” said Armata. “We know that in building a world class organization, like WMG, our people are our greatest asset.”
This is not the first time that WMG has earned notoriety for workforce practices. Most notably, Windsor Marketing Group is featured in the 2013 business management book, Conscious Capitalism, for its heroic efforts in building its state-of-the-art facility in Suffield, Connecticut during the recession of 2008.
During that time, faced with potentially laying off 20 percent of the Windsor Marketing Group workforce, negatively impacting both the company and community. Armata re-purposed his team to help complete construction on the company’s new facility in Suffield, CT.
The construction project offered job security and galvanized the WMG workforce, a team that is now working out of a state-of-the-art 160,000 square-foot facility they helped to build.
In 2013, Windsor Marketing Group was recognized at the “Celebrate Connecticut’s Family Businesses” for maintaining its sustainable and socially-responsible operation.
