Even more impactful was the realization that our challenges are similar regardless of industry or size.

Good People Creative, the Nashville-based content marketing company, hosted the Inaugural Brand > Forward event on June 18, 2014 at the Tennessee Titans LP Field on the club level. Cole Evans, owner of Good People Creative, considers the event a huge success for Nashville.

“It was great to see the leaders of both big and small companies coming together to discuss the challenges everyone faces in today’s marketing world,” says Cole Evans. “Even more impactful was the realization that those challenges are quite similar regardless of the industry one finds him or herself in.”

Jim Bartoo, marketing director for the Nashville Zoom, discussed social media and it’s role in current marketing plans. He says: “Do as much social media as you can possible afford to do. There simply is no downside because remember, these people want to engage with your brand. They are generally speaking your biggest fans and most likely to promote your company through word of mouth – the strongest advertising there is!”

Sarae Janes from Pinnacle Financial Group stated: “We recognized that our website is a place for our clients to get the information they need and want. We have taken full advantage of the website space in the market to include lots of resources for our clients. You can figure out how much your car payment will be, or how much you need to put aside each month to save for your child’s college education. And that is marketing at it’s best – giving your clients what they need to be better.”

Scott Cottick from Nissan of North America talked about content marketing specifically. “Everyone loves a story. People don’t remember what you said – they remember how you made them feel, and stories do that better than anything in the advertising space today. We believe in sharing relevant content on our website, through our blog and our social media every day. It builds brand loyalty and long term customers. And every business, big or small, has a story to tell.”

The event was a resounding success and Good People Creative expects to annualize the event and bring even more people together to share marketing ideas, concepts and strategies next year. For more information, visit
