Cherokee CRC, a division of Cherokee Nation Businesses, is one of five companies chosen to perform work on a 5-year contract for remodeling and renovations at several facilities managed by the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS).

The multi-disciplined construction project has the potential to produce $60 million in revenue for the tribal enterprise throughout the duration of the contract.

“Successfully fulfilling large-scale projects like this one in the Washington, D.C., area will keep our construction and building business thriving and increase our brand’s strength. Cherokee Nation Businesses is the economic engine for the Cherokee people, and all success is shared with our tribal citizens through expanded education, more job creation and better health care,” said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Bill John Baker. “The impact this contract will have exceeds far beyond one company.”

Cherokee CRC is providing new construction for commercial and industrial buildings, as well as the restoration and modernization of existing facilities and current infrastructure. Additional work includes renovation and installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as energy management controls to provide turnkey construction solutions.

WHS is the essential services provider for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Department of Defense agencies, and offices in the National Capital Region. The organization provides a wide range of centralized capabilities to deliver essential administrative services.

“An award of this magnitude speaks volumes to the level of confidence our clients have in our company’s capabilities,” said Shawn Slaton, CEO of Cherokee Nation Businesses. “Our team is committed to excellence and driven to succeed. We will work tirelessly to ensure our clients’ expectations are not only met, but exceeded.”

The contract specifies work at numerous government facilities, including the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. However, the majority of the work will be performed at the Pentagon Reservation, located in Arlington, Virginia.

“This contract provides us the opportunity to perform work in an area we have been interested in for some time,” said Cheryl Cohenour, executive general manager of CCRC. “We are currently in the process of setting up an office in the area and are looking forward to expanding our services in this region.”

With more than 25 years of experience, Cherokee CRC has built a strong reputation among government agencies and commercial clients for its outstanding quality of work and superior customer service. The company offers services in consulting and engineering, predominately in the areas of aerospace, construction, environmental and professional services.

CCRC is certified by the Small Business Administration as a Tribal 8(a), Small Disadvantaged and HUBZone business and is part of the Cherokee Nation Businesses family of companies.
