Foundation Capital Strengthens Leadership Team with Addition of Meg Sloan, Vice President of Marketing
Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) June 06, 2014 -- Silicon Valley venture capital firm Foundation Capital continues to grow its team with the addition of Vice President of Marketing, Meg Sloan. In her role, Meg will be responsible for creating and managing the marketing and communication programs at Foundation Capital as well as supporting its portfolio companies.
Meg brings more than 18 years of experience in marketing and creative communications to the team at Foundation Capital. Prior to joining FC, she spent five years at Facebook, where she worked in various marketing leadership roles and was one of the first members of the business marketing team. During her tenure, she served as director of global business marketing as well as director of marketing communications for Asia Pacific. As the director of marketing communications, Meg helped launch six new offices and was a member of the landing team that built out Facebook’s operations in the Asia Pacific region. Notable accomplishments while at Facebook include launching the first ‘Hack for a Cause’ event outside North America to connect tech and non-profit start-ups. Additionally, Meg was a part of the team that designed and launched the Facebook Small Business Accelerator program in Asia, to grow connect small businesses with Facebook and partner organizations to accelerate their businesses online and on mobile.
Prior to Facebook, Meg was a Senior Director at eBay, leading their Global Insights team and she also spent several years leading multiple marketing research functions at Microsoft. It was in this role that she won the 2004 David Ogilvy Award for excellence in Advertising Research for the ‘Realizing Potential’ corporate brand campaign. Meg earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Marketing from The University of Arizona.
