Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 07, 2014
As the 2013 – 2014 school year draws to a close, All Uniform Wear is recognizing exceptional students throughout the South Florida area. The ‘Positive Impact’ Scholarship Program is awarding up to $10,000 in scholarship funds throughout contracted Academica high schools. Six outstanding high school seniors with exemplary academic standing and community service involvement have been selected, and will have their scholarships presented to them at their respective commencement ceremonies this upcoming week.
Students at Doral Academy Charter High School, Somerset Academy Charter High School (Chapel Trail), Somerset Central Miramar High School, Pinecrest Preparatory High School, Somerset Academy Silver Palms High School and City of Hialeah Educational Academy were eligible to apply to the scholarship.
After careful review of each essay submitted, All Uniform Wear has compiled a list of winners to announce this week. Academic standing, community service and each individual student’s story were taken into consideration when selecting winners.
“We’re extremely excited to announce the winners of our Positive Impact Scholarship – the applicant response was overwhelming, but what was most impressive was the achievements of these amazing students - not just academically but in their community. The personal growth that they experienced through their success as well as through their challenges will mold them for all time and has truly inspired us as a company. We’re looking forward to growing this scholarship fund and we’re grateful to have had the privilege to honor them with this scholarship,” said Oliver Garcia, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
The following students are the recipients of The ‘Positive Impact’ Scholarship: Gloria Gennaro of Doral Academy Charter High School, Jacqueline Vazquez of Somerset Academy Charter High School (Chapel Trail), Julian Feliu of City of Hialeah Educational Academy, Richard Renois of Somerset Central Miramar High School, Adriana Martin of Pinecrest Preparatory High School and Coralie Ambroise of Somerset Academy Silver Palms High School.
Gloria Gennaro of Doral Academy Charter High School was awarded her scholarship this past Tuesday June 3 in a special commencement ceremony honoring the class of 2014. Gloria, a survivor of Maleria while in the fourth grade, has dedicated her school years to helping out less privileged children while maintaing exceptional grades and helping out her missionary family financially since the age of 14.
“Gloria’s hard work and dedication throughout her school years made her the perfect candidate for the ‘Positive Impact’ Scholarship,” said Oliver Garcia.
