Tennessee's Marshall Karr added to electronic medical record company Kazee's board.

Karr's reputation and experience will be invaluable to Kazee.

Marshall I. Karr, a pioneer in the development of electronic medical records for the healthcare industry, has been named to the Board of Directors of the newly formed Atlanta-based healthcare IT and software development company, KaZee, Inc. announced Albert Woodard, KaZee CEO.

Karr, a Nashville resident, is managing partner for Karr Commercial, LLC, a commercial and residential Real Estate firm that is responsible for the renovation and historic preservation of many of Nashville’s landmarks and residences and a number of subdivisions in Nashville and the town of Franklin.

In the late 1990s Karr served as president and chief operating officer of Nashville-based Medical Information Management Systems, Inc. (MIMS) where he was instrumental in the development of PEARL, a computerized patient record system for the healthcare industry. The company was eventually sold to Atlanta’s Business Computer Applications (BCA). KaZee was spun off from BCA this past January.

Albert Woodard, the former CEO of BCA, who heads up KaZee, says, “Marshall Karr’s experience and reputation in the electronic medical records field will be invaluable to KaZee executives as we respond to unprecedented demand for healthcare services as a result of changes in patient populations, technology advances, government regulations and scientific breakthroughs.”
