The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association is an organization made up of lawyers, law students, business leaders and educators residing and/or working in Broward County. It was founded in 1989 as a forum for Hispanic lawyers to address issues of importance in the community. The BCHBA has a mission to expand diversity in the legal profession, and to provide financial assistance to deserving Hispanic law students. Carlos J. Reyes is a founding member and served as President in 1991.

On May 31, 2014, as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, the BCHBA honored Founding members, Marina Garcia-Wood and Carlos J. Reyes, as well as all the Past Presidents. In a short speech, Carlos commented "The founding of the BCHBA was intended to give the small, but growing Hispanic legal community a voice in the profession. I am humbled to see how 25 years after its formation, the BCHBA continues to build upon our foundation, seeking to work with and make an impact in the profession and community. Kudos to the new leadership team!"

Carlos J. Reyes is the Principal of Reyes Law Group. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1988 and practices state-wide. Carlos has been awarded a rating of “AV Preeminent” which is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell – a well-recognized legal resource.

Carlos J. Reyes is the son of Cuban immigrants and was born in Miami, Florida. He is a family man celebrating 30 years of marriage, and the proud father of three children. His strong work ethic comes from parents who had nothing when they arrived, but built a business through hard work and an attitude of never giving up. Carlos applies that same strong work ethic to his law practice. He represents his clients in a thoughtful and meaningful way while representing their legal needs with strong conviction. Throughout his career Carlos has also given back to his community as a way of making a further difference in the lives of others.
