Concept Capital Markets, LLC Earns Top Scores in Multiple Categories of Global Custodian’s Prime Brokerage Survey
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 06, 2014 -- Concept Capital Markets, LLC earned the top scores in six of the ten categories included in the 2014 Prime Brokerage Survey by Global Custodian Magazine, including Operations, Financing and Margining, Securities Lending, Hedge Fund Consulting, Value, and Reputation. The firm also earned top 4 or better scores in three other categories, including Technology, Reporting, and Client Service. The firm’s overall score remained consistent with that achieved a year earlier, and again compared favorably to the overall survey scores. Moreover, the firm earned improved scores year-to-year in six categories, with the most significant improvement coming in Hedge Fund Consulting, a service the firm has focused on for many years and remains relevant to the managers we continue to support as they launch their investment management businesses.
The 21st annual edition of the survey, released earlier this week in the latest edition of the magazine, included more than 3,100 hedge fund responses on behalf of more than 40 different providers of prime brokerage services. This year’s survey broke out the prime brokers by size as measured by the number of survey responses submitted on their behalf, and also differed from those in earlier years by assigning weights to the responses from hedge fund managers based on the value of their assets under management, the level of complexity of their business based on the different strategies employed, and the number of prime brokers they engaged. These enhancements to the survey were meant to provide the evaluations of the largest and broadest users of prime brokerage services more weight than those of the smaller and simpler ones. These weighted responses, and additional skewing based on the importance of each service category assigned by the respondents, were utilized to designate the firms earning the “Roll of Honor” and “Ones to Watch” designations in each service category. The former was essentially reserved for the larger firms, and Concept Capital received the “Ones to Watch” designation for Value, Technology, and Hedge Fund Consulting.
“We appreciate the efforts by Global Custodian and all of the managers who participated in the survey, and are very gratified for the recognition our firm received from our clients for the services we provide, as it validates the effort our team puts forth every day. We aim to earn our clients’ business by serving as a trusted and loyal partner and delivering the prime brokerage solutions they’ve come to expect of us,” said Jack Seibald, co-founder and Managing Member. He added, “The survey results provide valuable feedback from our clients that will help us as we further develop our capabilities to meet their needs. Fund managers face enough difficulties every day as they search out the best possible investment and trading opportunities for their clients’ assets. Our mission at Concept is to deliver the custody, execution and clearing, operational support, and portfolio management and reporting solutions that free our clients to focus on their core competencies.”
“We believe the Concept team is uniquely equipped to understand and anticipate our clients’ needs and preferences because of our diverse set of experiences and skill sets that include launching and managing hedge funds, trading on a variety of execution and order management systems, clearing and settling trades at multiple clearing firms, providing operational and technology support to wide ranging investment strategies, utilizing portfolio reporting technologies, implementing compliance procedures, and raising capital. We continue to invest in technology, talented individuals, as well as regional branches in an effort to deliver the tools and support services that enhance our clients’ ability to manage their businesses. These investments have resulted in the continued growth of our client base and a substantial jump in the assets we service on their behalf over the past year,” he concluded.
