Admissions staff development is a keystone of successful recruiting in today’s tuition-driven higher education marketing environment. When the admissions staff understands how to work one-on-one with potential students converting them into enrolled students; only then is the enrollment health of an institution ensured.
Dana Evans, Senior Enrollment Consultant from Paskill Stapleton & Lord, presented two sessions at the 2014 Adventist Enrollment Association Conference hosted by Southern Adventist University in Keene, Texas on May 20. The conference was a gathering of 84 admissions professionals from 13 Adventist affiliated college and universities from the United States and Canada.
For the recruiter level participants, Ms. Evans led a three-hour training workshop on “Being a Better Recruiter.” For the Vice Presidents and Directors of Admissions in attendance, Dana presented an hour-long program on “Building an Effective Team.” Dana said, “Everyone wanted to learn and discuss their challenges and successes. The discussions were lively!”
These programs were excerpts from PS&L’s well known training programs - SMART (Sales Management and Academic Recruitment Training) and Advanced Admissions Management Boot Camp.
