Local Accounting Firm, Citrin Cooperman, Assists Eva’s Village in Supporting Those in Need in the Community Through Their Fund-A-Meal Program
Paterson, New Jersey (PRWEB) June 09, 2014 -- On June 2nd Eva’s Village, New Jersey’s most comprehensive anti-poverty organization, welcomed a volunteer team from Citrin Cooperman, to serve the noon meal in its kitchen program and to assist with sprucing up the backyard of its men’s shelter. Citrin Cooperman is an east coast, public accounting firm with New Jersey operations in Livingston. Each year, teams from all offices take the day to give back to their communities by giving their time to local organizations. “This is an event that we look forward to all year, we carefully select organizations that we know are doing good for the communities and we are happy to rise to the occasion and serve,” stated Will Fernandez, CPA, and Partner leading the Eva’s Kitchen volunteer team. “Citrin Cooperman has an ongoing mission to try to make a difference and partners with Eva’s Village throughout the year.”
The “Fund-A-Meal” program provides the opportunity for corporate teams to sponsor a meal in Eva’s Kitchen and to serve the meal on the day of their sponsorship. “We have expanded our kitchen to accommodate the overwhelming numbers of people coming for a hot meal each day,” commented Donna Marie Fico, Director of Marketing & Education. “We are in need of funding to provide the meals as well as volunteer teams to serve them, and this corporate team building effort answers those needs.”
Eva’s Village strives to feed a hot lunch to all that come to their door each day (365 days/year), serving more than 140,000 lunches/year. The soup kitchen program at Eva’s Village, has experienced a 24% increase since 2007, serving more than 350 people a day. Fund-A-Meal sponsorships directly help to offset the costs of providing over 350 meals each day. Fund-A-Meal sponsors receive various benefits including, signage in Eva’s Kitchen, visibility on Eva’s social network sites, press releases and honorable mention in our newsletter.
