Tariq Drabu Welcomes News That the UK Dental Profession is Optimistic About the Future
(PRWEB) June 10, 2014 -- Tariq Drabu is a Manchester born and educated dentist and specialist oral surgeon. He is one of the youngest dentists to ever graduate in the United Kingdom and went on to complete his Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, after spending years working in busy dental hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia. He owns the successful Langley Dental Practice and is also the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and Treatment Services at NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale. Dr Drabu is also an active mentor and tutor to postgraduate dentists in oral surgery at the UCLAN Dental Clinic in Preston.
Tariq Drabu was speaking about a recent article published in the Dental Tribune website on the increased optimism of UK dental professionals. The full article can be read here.
Tariq Drabu said, “an online survey shows that more UK dental professionals are feeling optimistic about the future of their practice over the next couple of years. The survey is part of an annual survey conducted by the GDC (General Dental Council), showing that more dental care professionals are optimistic than dentists.”
Tariq Drabu went on to say, “one of the areas where dental professionals were optimistic was learning and development, seventy three percent were positive about this area of dentistry. Some of the pessimisms associated with dentistry were related to regulation changes and financial issues. One of the main concerns is meeting the demands and staying updated with the dental regulations.”
Tariq Drabu closed in saying, “currently there are over one hundred thousand dental professionals registered with the GDC, of which around forty thousand are dentists. All dental professionals are required to register with the GDC, which regulates the dental profession in the United Kingdom. The aim of the GDC is to ensure that patients receive the highest quality patient care available. I think it is good news that the optimism levels within the profession has improved over last year’s survey and I am excited to see what the future holds for the dental profession in the coming years. Dental professionals who are positive about the future are more likely to remain in the profession, which is always good news, as there is always a need for qualified dentists throughout the country.”
