Half of Brits not organised with household bills

With recent price rises in food, energy bills and other household costs, an increasing number of Brits are getting their finances in order to cover the mounting expenses. However, a study by TopCashback released today reveals that, despite this, around half of Brits don’t organise their bills or coordinate them with payday and around a quarter are getting caught out by costs they haven’t budgeted for.

Brits and Household Bills

On the plus side, more encouraging results found that 92 per cent now pay their household bills by direct debit, ensuring the balance is cleared in good time and more than three-quarters receive ‘e-bills’ to avoid paper-related costs.

Other key findings revealed that:

  •     21 per cent of North West residents are still paying extra for paper bills
  •     East Midlands residents are the most savvy when it comes to reviewing their household bills, with 87 per cent doing so annually
  •     The West Midlands has the largest number of residents who struggle to pay their household bills
