Besides being based on actual events that I lived through, I want readers to know the horrific hardships that come out of war.

Rick Travis sits on the edge of his bed in his room on Misawa Air Force Base in the winter of ’67. He has just read a “Dear John” letter from his girlfriend that will create a course of events that will change his life forever.

In the early 1960’s, the US Military knew they needed to develop a new method of intelligence gathering when it came to tracking the enemy in the jungles of Vietnam.

“A P Alley”, the new book by Terry Yurick, is based on Yurick’s own experiences during the Vietnam War when he was put on a project named Phyllis Ann. As a mission leader, Yurick spent significant time in Pleiku, Vietnam and Misawa, Japan during some of the most turbulent times in our nation’s history fighting alongside some of America’s most devoted and brave soldiers.

“Besides being based on actual events that I lived through, I want readers to know the horrific hardships that come out of war,” said Yurick. “And that going into war should always have a clear objective and well thought out strategy, unlike what I witnessed in Vietnam."

As Rick Travis witnesses the firsthand taking of the USS Pueblo by the North Koreans while in Japan, he becomes very concerned over the escalation of the war after seeing the TET offensive happening.

“A P Alley” will appeal to both history enthusiasts as well as avid readers interested in learning more about the Vietnam War and the price the world paid in entering a pointless war.
