San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 11, 2014 -- Mueller College has been a staple of the San Diego career training landscape for nearly 40 years. While its massage therapy certificate programs are widely recognized, expanding to offer career-oriented degree programs is a natural progression for the College.
Students will receive both classroom and hands-on training for the Associates of Occupational Science in the Recording Arts degree.
This is not the first time Mueller College has been associated with music: the College runs a small local music performance venue (Across the Street) in the University Heights area of San Diego. Mueller College President and CEO, Dr. Jeff Welsh couldn’t be happier: “My first job was teaching music when I was 14. I have been a professional musician for more than 40 years, and I am very excited to give back to the music community in such a significant way. This program will offer maximum value to students and will prepare them for meaningful careers that will align with their passions.”
Ensuring that the Recording Arts Program provides students with a great hands-on experience, Mueller College has partnered with Studio West, a professional recording studio in Rancho Bernardo. Owner and CEO of Studio West, Peter Dyson said: "Studio West has decades of experience serving San Diego and beyond with professional audio and post production services so we feel like we know what skills are required for people to succeed in this challenging occupation. That's why we started offering certification classes in Pro Tools and other production techniques 8 years ago, but this new partnership will take that to a whole new level. Mueller College is an accredited institution and they really understand career education. Combining this experience with our technical knowledge, world class studios and industry contacts will be a powerful combination that will surely benefit students.”
Mueller College is now accepting enrollments for the inaugural class, beginning in the summer quarter, June 24, 2014.
