The Café Mocha™ Show affectionately known as ‘radio from a women’s perspective’ that airs weekends on WBLS-FM is celebrating its third year of honoring dynamic women for their contributions within the communities they serve with SALUTE HER: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards Empowerment Day at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on June 21st from 10am – 3pm.
Hosted by Café Mocha celebrity host actress Nicole Ari Parker and co-host Angelique Perrin, the daylong celebration will bring together Black and Latino women in the tri-state area. The day’s experience will include Salute Her: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards Brunch, Beauty Inside and Out Gentle Treatment ™ Style Lounge, Mocha Mavens network exchange sponsored by MadameNoire and a stirring tribute by American Idol winner Ruben Studdard.
The much anticipated SALUTE HER: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards celebration will recognize a diverse group of women who share a common commitment to make a positive contribution that strengthen the multicultural community. This year’s honorees include: entertainer Gloria Gaynor, Sister2Sister magazine publisher Jamie Foster-Brown, Real Housewives of Atlanta star and model Cynthia Bailey, community activist Evelyn Mejil, entertainment publicist Simone Smalls, author Ilyasah Shabazz, author and relationship expert Demetria Lucas, television host/journalist Lola Ogunnaike and HBCU broadcast pioneer D. Cherie Lofton.
