APT Announces Formation of APT Charities
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) June 10, 2014 -- Applied Predictive Technologies (APT), the world’s largest purely cloud-based predictive analytics software company, announced today the formation of APT Charities, a non-profit focused on contributing to APT’s local and global communities.
APT Charities aims to give gifts directly to organizations that have a demonstrated need and specific goal for funds, including those who engage in or could benefit from data-driven solutions. The non-profit organization was formed with a starting contribution from APT and welcomes donations of all sizes.
“Our employees have always shown a passion and enthusiasm for giving back, as demonstrated by events such as our yearly food drives and Data Dives with non-profit organizations, like DC Prep and the Capital Area Food Bank,” said Cathy Baker, APT SVP and Chair of the Board. “APT Charities allows for all of APT to contribute to worthy causes in the community through a more formally established channel."
A small Board of Directors, elected by contributing members, will manage APT Charities. Both APT employees and the general public are encouraged to contribute to APT Charities. APT Charities expects to apply to qualify as a 501(c)(3) organization, making contributions tax-deductible.
APT has hosted a number of Data Dive events in 2014, most recently with Capital Area Food Bank. The hackathon-like events occur over a 24-hour period, and result in a number of actionable recommendations for the given organization. Partnerships like that with Capital Area Food Bank, concentrate on applicable solutions such as optimizing distribution and purchasing decisions over time.
“I have always been excited about community service, and I’m glad that APT Charities gives our company and the wider public an opportunity to contribute to the local and global spheres,” said Ryan Rosario, APT Business Consultant and recent “Data Dive” participant.
