Pharmacist Education is the Subject of a New Episode of "Leading Edge", Hosted by Jimmy Johnson
(PRWEB) June 11, 2014 -- From refilling prescriptions to making sure two different medications do not interfere with one another, pharmacists play an important role in the lives of millions of Americans. However, from behind the counter it simply looks like the workers are simply filling medication containers and that is it. The truth is, these highly educated and trained professionals do much more than this, and understanding what all goes into pharmacist education is the subject of the latest episode of "Leading Edge" with Jimmy Johnson.
Pharmacist education covers much more than just filling prescriptions. During educational training, these individuals learn about the creation of medication, what chemicals and ingredients inside the medication cause certain reactions and how these reactions can interact with the ingredients of other medications. They understand proper care of the medication and what is required to keep an individual safe while using their prescription. "Leading Edge with Jimmy Johnson" created the series in order to educate an audience on what exactly goes into pharmacist education and how these professionals come to be where they are today. The programming move behind the glass in the pharmacy to show the audience the other side of the spectrum into what exactly they must do, both on a daily basis and through their educational courses.
"Leading Edge" is developed and delivered to Public Television stations across the United States, and is not associated with PBS. Visit the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com for more.
