Senator Diane Savino has long been supporting medical marijuana and providing doctors the ability to work with patients with medicine that can help them with their medical problems. In her video announcement http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/staten-island-sen-diane-savino-pushes-medical-marijuana-legalization-albany-session-ticks-blog-entry-1.1790646#ixzz34C6ieYBF she states: "We shouldn't handcuff our doctors from making the best decision on how to treat their patients. We may have the facts on our side -- but we still need your support," to garner more support for the legislation. The Assembly backed the use of Medical Marijuana recently http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/28/nyregion/assembly-backs-use-of-marijuana-for-illnesses.html (May 2014, The New York Times, Jesse Mckinley) and Savino is waiting on the Senate Finance Committee to pass the remainder.
With MPP (http://www.mpp.org) Dan Riffle, Director of Federal Policies, NORML and other staunch supporters of the legalization of Marijuana within the United States, the International Cannabis Association EXPO is expected to draw large numbers of business professionals.
Entrepreneurs in Las Vegas and from around the nation are trying to learn exactly what it takes to get into the cannabis business, now that legislation around the USA is appearing to head in that direction. At the ICA, the general public can comfortably come in and speak with successful businesses, political parties and much more in order to get a firm understanding of what it will take to get involved.
There will be no marijuana products for sale at the ICA EXPO, which is expected to draw successful entrepreneurs who have been too uncomfortable to attend other trade shows that focus primarily on actual smoking of marijuana or imbibing marijuana enhanced products. The ICA's two-day conference will feature experts familiar with the cannabis industry who will explain how to enter the industry and advance your existing business. Professionals in industries such as attorneys, accountants, investors, suppliers, distributors, realtors, marketers, transporters and security are welcome.
