Rivier University Announces Summer Institute for Educators
Nashua, NH (PRWEB) June 11, 2014 -- Teachers looking to advance their careers or build upon their base of knowledge will have the opportunity to do so at one of the region’s leading institutions for educators.
Mastering the Core, Rivier University’s Summer Institute for Educators, is an accelerated learning program for current teachers designed to fit into their professional schedules. With one- and two-week program options, the Summer Institute focuses on further developing teachers through disciplinary knowledge and practices. The courses will take place July 7th through July 11th, and again the following week July 14th through July 18th. An educator can earn three credits in one week and six credits in two weeks.
For 80 years, Rivier University has been a leader in undergraduate and graduate education programs. Rivier offers more than 30 M.Ed. and M.A.T. programs and created the state of New Hampshire’s first Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Learning.
The Summer Institute was designed by educators for educators. The formats are convenient, the tuition is affordable, staff help navigate employee reimbursement plans and all course credits can be applied to Rivier’s M.Ed. or M.A.T. degree programs.
The Institute brings middle and high school educators together to explore pedagogy, disciplinary content and contemporary practices for their continued professional development. All of the course programs qualify as credit toward certification as a Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT).
Week One (July 7th - July 11th) will include the courses Technology in the Humanities Classroom, Web Design for Educators, and Managing the Diverse Mathematics Classroom.
Week Two (July 14th - July 18th) will include the courses Teacher as Researcher, Non-Fiction: Tradition and Teaching, Mathematical Patterns and Connections:Enlivening Geometry, Algebra, and Pre-Algebra through Interactive Problem Solving and Discovery, and The Atlantic World.
