IBTS Continues to Expand Services in Virginia
Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) June 12, 2014 -- The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) is proud to share that four new communities in Virginia have recently reached out to us and requested plan review support in varying capacities. Each of these communities came to us either based on past experience or in response to references given by other communities. “We are pleased how many communities come to us through referrals and positive experiences,” said Paul Hancher, Director of Building Department Services at IBTS, “These examples reaffirm the value our clients see in the services we deliver on a daily basis.”
IBTS is working with Steve Shapiro, past president of ICC and Building Official in Hampton, Virginia, to provide building and structural plan review assistance for major projects on a temporary basis. The Planning and Zoning Administration in Hampton, VA needed plan review support after a position became vacant due to an employee retiring. IBTS will provide services while the City seeks a candidate to fill the position on a permanent basis.
Cathy Cook, president of the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association and Building Official in Blacksburg, Virginia, reached out to IBTS to provide full-service building plan review services for major projects in the town. IBTS was being referred by Brian Hamilton, Economic Development Director for Montgomery County, VA, where IBTS provides on-demand as-needed services.
The City of Manassas recognized the high quality work IBTS has performed for neighboring jurisdictions and has engaged us to supplement their own plan review capacity.
IBTS provides on-demand surge and just-in-time building code professionals, including engineers, plans examiners, inspectors, permit technicians, and administrative support personnel. IBTS has supported numerous Building Departments throughout the country, including establishing and running building departments in various states and on military installations nationwide.
