Pier 33 Marina to Celebrate National Marina Day Saturday, June 14
St. Joseph, MI (PRWEB) June 11, 2014 -- Pier 33 Marina of St. Joseph, Michigan will be celebrating National Marina Day on Saturday, June 14 and the celebration is open to the public.
National Marina Day promotes the role marinas play as family-friendly gateways to boating. On National Marina Day, marinas around the country open their doors to their community as a means of introducing them to the fun and benefits of boating and the marina lifestyle. “It’s a pleasure to again recognize National Marina Day here at Pier 33,” said Pier 33 General Manager Tighe Curran. “Boating is vital to our local economy and to the character of our waterfront communities. Boating is such a family-friendly activity.”
The event will also include free, no-obligation boat demonstration rides from 10 am to 2 pm. Curious boaters-someday-to-be can get aboard with a Pier 33 staffer, learn about the boating lifestyle, boating safety and how to get started on the water.
Attendees can enjoy free refreshments at the Pier 33 showroom at 250 Anchors Way in St. Joseph on Saturday from Noon to 2 PM and the Pier 33 staff will provide tours of the marina to any interested visitors at that time. Saturday showroom hours are 9 am to 4 pm.
Additional events are planned for later in the day for boaters who are already part of the Pier 33 boating family. Global Marine Insurance and First Merit Bank will be sponsoring Pier 33’s Surf-n-Turf Social for Pier 33 boaters. Complete details can be found at http://www.pier33.com/NMD.
