On Friday, June 13th ACG and the Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) will be hosting our 2nd Annual Gluten-Free Industry Day, designed to update retailers and manufacturers about the dynamic growing gluten-free Canadian market. Again, the Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) will be hosting a full day industry event for business owners and marketers of gluten-free products on June 13th at the International Centre in Toronto. Leading North American marketers, researchers, consumer groups, manufacturers, retailers, auditors and laboratory experts will come together to share perspectives, obtain updates on CFIA and US FDA regulations, learn the latest market research results on this rapidly expanding $12.4 billion category.

Alice Bast, the president and Founder of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness the key note speaker is best known for her passionate approach to “Putting it into Practice - Convincing My Own Family to Get Tested for Celiac Disease.” According to Paul Valder, president of the Gluten-Free Certification Program, “Alice’s personal insights and many years of working with industry to get the message out will provide an insightful backdrop to a day of learning and networking opportunities. We are lucky to have her as our key-note speaker, Alice never fails to remind the food industry about how the safe manufacturing of gluten-free products really makes a difference in the lives of millions of North Americans.”

This event will also feature: presentations from leading retailers like Sobeys on their gluten-free marketing experiences and even a presentation on a gluten-free marketing opportunity hosted by the City of Cobourg. Additionally, a progress update on the GFCP program across North America, a 30 minute Certification Body sponsored panel discussion and Q&A, information on the funding of gluten-free projects. There will also be a $2,000 sponsorship opportunity, it is limited to the first 5 CB's, which are currently approved to audit in the GFCP and would like to provide a brief introduction about the company and the unique aspects of the GFCP certification audit process.
