WHISK To Serve Brunch & Burgers Daily In Chicago's Ukrainian Village
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 12, 2014 -- Serving up sweet and savory breakfast staples—like Mexican-inspired breakfast burrito with homemade salsa, a chorizo omelet with queso fresco and chilaquiles with Chihuahua cheese—WHISK is the hottest new brunch place in town. And it’s also the Windy City’s newest go-to burger joint (after five o’clock), with many of the brunch favorites carrying over to the “breakfast-for-dinner” menu, as well. Co-owners, chefs and brothers David and Ricky Rodriguez invite those near and far to come on in to celebrate the restaurant’s grand opening in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village neighborhood on Saturday June 14, 2014.
“WHISK is our ultimate restaurant dream,” says Ricky Rodriguez. “We wanted to open a place that essentially performs double duty. Chicagoans love a good brunch any time, and we’re ready to deliver every single day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. But we’re certain WHISK BURGER, which is what the restaurant becomes after five each night, will provide a juicy option, too. If you’re still craving brunch at that point, just order your burger ‘breakfast style,’ or go ahead and indulge in the steak and eggs with grits. We won’t judge.”
Ricky Rodriguez is the former executive chef of the Logan Square neighborhood’s Rocking Horse and is no stranger to doing pub grub right. He started working in the restaurant industry at the age of 15 as a dishwasher and a bus boy before finding his way to the kitchen line. His brother David Rodriguez began an early career in food service, as well, where he began as a dishwasher before becoming a line cook, kitchen manager and eventually a chef. David’s main passion is baking.
For those with a morning sweet tooth, WHISK—located just west of the Chicago and Damen intersection—serves up items like Snickers®-stuffed French Toast and Reese’s® Pancakes, to name a few. Vegetarians will be delighted with a plethora of options, as well. Breakfast brings a veggie egg sandwich with fresh spinach, cucumbers and sprouts; or black bean cakes with mango jicama salsa. For evening fare, vegetarians can dine on salad offerings or a black bean patty with frisée and mint basil. As with any great brunch hotspot, the weekends provide an extra special menu. WHISK’s offerings include a list of mouthwatering benedicts including a BLT, a caprese, and a roasted red pepper option. Coffee and tea sippers will enjoy the many specialty drink choices available to complement their brunch selections. WHISK is BYOB, and as luck would have it, there’s a Mariano’s right across the street for anyone wishing to partake. WHISK does not accept reservations.
