Local AlignLife Chiropractors Serve up Home Cooking at Ronald McDonald House
Wauwatosa, Wi (PRWEB) June 13, 2014 -- At AlignLife of Wauwatosa, helping others is exactly what both Dr. Sara Mahalko and Dr. Katie Sam enjoy most. Every day they see patients, they are able to impact their patients’ lives, not only through chiropractic care, but in other ways as well. "We thoroughly enjoy what we do in our office. We are constantly looking for ways to help others in our community as well," Dr. Sara Mahalko explained. So when the Kiwanis Club of Wauwatosa had a guest speaker from the Ronald McDonald house come and tell the club about the house, Dr. Mahalko and Dr. Sam knew that they needed to reach out to families in need at the Ronald McDonald house.
On June 4th, the AlignLife doctors did just that -- they prepared a meal for several families that were staying at the house. "It was such a great feeling to help those who are going through a tough time. To see the smiles on their faces and to hear them say "thank you" to us was absolutely priceless," said Dr. Mahalko. "We enjoyed the opportunity to provide a little piece of ourselves through a meal to help them through their difficult journey," added Dr. Sam.
Dr. Sam, whose son had a liver transplant at 8-months of age, knows exactly what the families are going through. According to Dr. Sam, “during those hard days and times while at the hospital, to have a hot meal to come home to, to help it feel more like our home, was invaluable.”
Both doctors enjoyed serving the meal to the guests at the Ronald McDonald house and look forward to being regular meal providers.
