Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) June 12, 2014 -- Corporate Travel Management (CTM, ASX: CTD) has today announced further expansion in the US.
The next piece of CTM’s North American expansion plan has been put in place today with the acquisition of Alaska-based travel management company USTravel (UST). The acquisition, effective July 1, 2014, positions CTM as one of the largest travel management providers in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest and expands our North American network to over 17 cities across 7 states supported by over 330 full time staff.
CTM’s Managing Director, Jamie Pherous said, “We are delighted to have UST become our regional base for the Pacific Northwest. It possesses all the qualities that we look for, having a great service reputation, a dedicated team and great management.”
Romeo Cuter, CTM’s CEO of North America, continues, “By combining our successful and established offices in Colorado, Texas and Louisiana with the strong team in place at UST, we will be able to further leverage buying power, internal resources, client-facing solutions and support expertise moving forward. I am delighted to add the UST team to our growing national offering.”
UST will become CTM’s regional headquarters for the Pacific Northwest (PNW). The PNW, including Alaska, Washington State and Oregon, are regions that value the local and personalized service solutions on which both CTM and UST pride themselves. CTM’s US headquarters will remain in Denver, Colorado.
UST currently operates in 11 offices throughout Alaska, Washington State, Oregon and Iowa. They have been in operation for 17 years and are home to 135 full time staff supporting corporate, meetings and leisure travel services. Their client mix of approximately 80% corporate, 20% meetings, incentives and leisure represents annual sales volume of approximately USD$185m at December 31, 2013.
The significant Alaskan oil and gas resources industry is complementary to both CTM’s client base and established centers of excellence in Texas, Perth and Singapore, while the emerging technology powerhouse of Seattle plays into CTM’s technology driven product offering. UST’s extensive knowledge and expertise in the management of US Government travel also further complements CTM’s government sector strategy throughout our global network.
President of UST, Linda Eliason, claimed, “The opportunity to become a part of the wonderful team that CTM has built will allow UST to enhance our product and service offering to our many clients. By expanding our global reach as part of CTM, UST will add new opportunities to network both US and international clients and work with the other CTM offices to support our US based clients as well. UST employees will see new and exciting career opportunities evolve as a result of our future growth initiatives.
“CTM has developed a unique culture of employee training, support and empowerment, which has a significant benefit in allowing us to be creative and responsive in our effort to provide our clients with customized travel solutions.”
CTM North America will further leverage combined buying power, support service expertise and client facing solutions in North America. CTM’s combined North American TTV for FY15 will be in excess of USD500m, allowing the leverage of additional buying power in global and North American markets.
