Nancy E. Wigal, the owner and operator of Search Engine Academy Washington DC (SEA DC), has been invited to participate in the Anne Arundel County Maryland school design program. As a participant, Nancy will be part of an Integrated Community Stakeholder Team to add information to Graphic Design course curriculum.
"This is just one way I can give back to the community by letting high schoolers know that search is a huge career field, and it's only going to continue to grow. I'm starting by participating in the graphic design curriculum update. I'll provide some information about how search engine optimization (SEO) is impacted by graphic design, and vice versa," according to Nancy.
Signature programs in the Anne Arundel County school system are designed to provide high school students with information and workforce skills that are relevant to current occupation demands.
SEA DC is specifically partnering with Southern High School's program called "Design - Preservation and Innovation." The individual career areas are:
Nancy may additionally be able to contribute knowledge and expertise to the Media Design curriculum.
Students who participate in design courses have opportunities to serve as interns, receive mentoring from subject matter experts, take part in online and community college courses to prepare for careers after high school.
