2014 ACR-RBMA Forum to Focus on Volume-to-Value Transition
Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- The Radiology Business Management Association is proud to announce the theme of the 2014 ACR-RBMA Forum, a program jointly offered by the association and the American College of Radiology. As in previous years, the sixth annual ACR-RBMA Forum will immediately precede the RBMA’s Fall Educational Conference. The forum will be held October 17-18 at the W Seattle Hotel; the conference will follow October 19-21 at the Westin Seattle.
The ACR-RBMA Forum represents a unique opportunity for collaboration because its content is designed for both radiologists and their practice administrators; by attending as a team, the two constituencies can learn how to work better together to manage their groups more effectively. This year’s program will be themed around the transition from fee-for-service to value-based medicine, helping physicians and business leaders understand the steps necessary to competing and thriving in the healthcare paradigm of the future.
Among other educational content, the 2014 ACR-RBMA Forum will feature a debate on teleradiology and whether it presents an opportunity or a threat; case studies sharing concrete examples of success in navigating new payment systems, improving alignment and adding value to hospitals; and a focus on leveraging data to demonstrate value going forward.
“The ACR-RBMA Forum is one of the few educational programs available that has been specifically designed for radiologists and their practice managers to attend together,” said Kimberly Mydland, director of education and meetings for the RBMA. “By jointly focusing on addressing the most pressing needs faced by practices nationwide, both on a day-to-day and a long-term strategic basis, attendees can help ensure a more stable and successful future for their groups.”
The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association providing members with applied business information and intelligence applicable in any radiology setting. The RBMA has approximately 2,300 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups, imaging centers and hospitals. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for radiology-specific educational programs, products and services, publications and data.
