Turn an Ordinary Watermelon into a Drink-Dispensing Keg with The Watermelon Keg Kit
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) June 17, 2014 -- July 4th is right around the corner, which means summer party season is kicking into high gear. KegWorks, the Buffalo-based retailer of draft beer equipment, premium cocktail ingredients, and bar supplies, is prepping for the summer season with a brand new product called the Watermelon Keg Kit.
This do-it-yourself kit turns any ordinary watermelon into a drink-dispensing cocktail keg.
In addition to the kit, all you need is a kitchen knife, wooden spoon, bowl, and whatever libation you choose to put inside the melon.
As far as assembly goes, the Watermelon Keg Kit comes with a detailed instruction sheet which lays out seven steps coupled with animated visuals. “We’ve tried it out a few times in the office,” says Trisha Charles, Vice President of Marketing at KegWorks. “It’s really easy to assemble, it pours freely, and if nothing else, it’s a wonderful conversation starter.”
Fashioned after a draft beer keg shank and faucet assembly, the kit comes with four total pieces - a coring tool to cut the perfect-sized hole in a hollowed-out watermelon, a faucet, which controls the pour, a shank, which attaches to the faucet and screws through the melon, and a lock nut to secure the entire assembly.
“Use it for your favorite fruity cocktail, frozen sangria, or fill it with juice for the kids,” says Charles. “I plan on having two at each of my parties this summer - one for the kids and one for adults.”
