The Reid Effect Wins Big in the 35th Annual Telly Awards
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- The Telly Awards named The Reid Effect Production Studios as a Silver winner in this years' 35th Annual Telly Awards for their documentary titled "Carrie's West". With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and countries around the world, this is truly a competition of global proportion and a mark of merit.
The piece tells the story of Carrie Fell, an artist of the 21st century, caught in between the New West and the Old. She is unique from most "western artists" because of her dramatic use of color and faceless subjects. Yet somehow she breathes so much life into her longhorns and cowboys that she continues to be categorized primarily as a western artist. "Carrie's West" documents her work of wild horses and infinite skies and the road that led her there.
A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of the The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work - entries do not compete against each other - rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor.
For its 35th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People's Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from The Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People's Telly Awards winners.
"The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. "The Reid Effect's accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production."
"We are thrilled," exclaimed film director Robert Reid. "Carrie didn't discover her artistic abilities until her 30's, yet she has come so far in a short amount of time thanks to her incredible talent and passion. We are equally passionate about telling compelling stories and we love that the Telly Awards recognize our efforts."
