When it came time to consolidate its direct marketing activities to help the homeless, Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission chose an agency close to home. The San Fernando Valley-based nonprofit awarded its account to Brewer Direct, one of the country’s top fundraisers for faith-based charities. The direct response firm is headquartered in Monrovia, located in northeast Los Angeles County.
Creative and media campaigns for the homeless shelter will be multi-channel, with Brewer Direct developing donor communications across direct mail, print and digital platforms. The integrated program breaks this fall with appeals aimed at attracting new donors, as well as re-engaging givers that have previously supported the nonprofit.
Prior to hiring Brewer Direct, Hope of the Valley utilized several different direct marketing shops for to create and manage its mail-based fundraising. The agency’s end-to-end solutions model fit with the the charity’s desire to centralize the function and enhance both operational efficiencies and impact.

Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission generates its core financial support from the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles. While Brewer Direct’s upcoming campaign will continue to target high-propensity givers there, plans also call for expanding the fundraising footprint to reach prospective donors in communities to the east, west and north. The Mission is located in the Los Angeles suburb of Sun Valley.
