ASEOHosting Releases Panda And Payday Loans Algorithm Update Advisory
Hudson, FL (PRWEB) June 17, 2014 -- ASEOHosting, a provider of premium multiple IP and SEO hosting, has issued an advisory notice to clients and webmasters who may have suffered a reduction in search engine rank in the wake of the recent Panda 4.0 and Payday Loans 2.0 updates to Google’s search algorithms. According to Google, the Panda updates can be expected to affect 7.5% of English-language queries, making the update one of the most significant in recent years. The updates are intended to improve Google’s search results by demoting low-quality content in the SERPs and removing spammy links.
ASEOHosting advises that site owners who have noticed a recent decrease in search referrals and ranking, without any indication of a manual penalty, focus on improving the quality of on-site content, ensuring that content is relevant, expert, trustworthy, original, grammatically correct, and that it is of a quality likely to encourage sharing and linking.
“Each time Google shakes up the search landscape, thousands of small and medium businesses are negatively impacted,” commented ASEOHosting’s Vice President of Customer Relations, Daniel Page, “We applaud Google’s attempts to provide relevant, high-quality results to its users, but many site owners are wrong-footed by algorithmic changes that slash search rankings for sites that previously performed well."
ASEOHosting’s advisory is intended to provide clients and others with the knowledge they need to mitigate the impact of the Panda 4.0 and Payday Loans 2.0 and protect their sites from future algorithm changes.”
Panda 4.0 is the most recent iteration of the Panda algorithm, which was first implemented in early 2011. Panda focuses on reducing the ranking of thin, spammy, and low-quality content. A number of prominent sites and eCommerce stores reported significant reductions in search visibility and referrals in the period immediately following Google’s announcement. There is also some indication that sites previously impacted by Panda have recovered their rankings, indicating that Google has refined the algorithm to reduce false positives.
The Payday Loans 2.0 implementation targets a smaller subset of queries, and is intended to remove spammy links, including links to payday loans sites, pornography sites, and others with low-quality spammy content. It appears Payday Loans 2.0 will have less of an impact than Panda 4.0, particularly in the US, where around 0.4% of queries are affected.
As a leading provider of international and local SEO hosting, and multiple IP hosting, ASEOHosting’s platform provides the necessary infrastructure for ongoing search engine success, but in order to remain ahead of competitors, webmasters must be aware of algorithm and index changes that will impact their ranking potential.
