Graduating High School student lands a record deal writing songs about drug abuse, suicide and abortion. His goal is to create Positive Controversy and get his generation talking about issues often kept behind closed doors.

DJ De Neve, a Trabuco Hills High School Senior and lead singer in The FiiX (, has been signed to a multi-year record deal with Hourglass Independent Records. DJ is an amazing singer/songwriter, who is well on his way to a huge career in the arts. In the midst of graduating High School, he has been busy writing and recording his debut LP "If The Walls Could Speak" at ReAmp Recording Studios in Anaheim.

"DJ is a talented young writer, who has the ability to pull from his life to create great music," said Daniel Martin, producer on If The Walls Could Speak and owner of ReAmp Recording Studios. (

DJ's exceptional story shows triumph over depression and adversity, which is apparent in his deeply personal writing. He is the kind of kid you want to see succeed, and writes from his heart about issues that are currently going on around him at school, in church and in his daily life. The music is full of what he calls Positive Controversy. Some of the songs take a strong political and spiritual stance, which is not to often seen in young writers. The music he writes is full of energy and excitement that showcases his multi-instrumental talents and his stellar vocals.

"DJ's focus on the current, relevant issues facing his generation creates exceptional music that reflects the struggles facing our world's youth," said Stefani Rose, CEO of Hourglass Independent Records. (

Each of the songs on "If The Walls Could Speak" deals with a hard issue such as abortion, suicide and children being used as rebel soldiers, and is grounded by a young, but mature, social conscious. While the music and topics are aggressive, the vibe of the music is almost EDM club like with a Hip-Hop edge. The music is similar to Linkin Park and Eminem with hints of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The FiiX prides itself on writing songs containing messages of Positive Controversy. DJ De Neve has written both lyrics and music for the FiiX. Taylor Christian, the other half of this dynamic duo, has been able to channel some of his past struggles with drug addiction into the lyrics he has written for "If The Walls Could Speak." Taylor focuses primarily on the rap elements and complements the EDM POP rock sound DJ creates. Together their energy is perfectly balanced and explosive. Both DJ and Taylor are unapologetic in their lyrics and unafraid to speak the truth they feel. Unique, Alive, Driven, and full of Positive Controversy is the best way to sum up "If The Walls Could Speak" and The FiiX.

Both of the boys attend Saving Grace Community Church and have had great support from the members there.

The FiiX will release their Debut LP, "If The Walls Could Speak," on June 24 - just one day before DJ graduates high school. There will be a CD release party at The Vault in Orange on June 28. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are $7.00 (ticket only) or $12.00 for a CD/ticket bundle and can be purchased at the door.
