San Francisco, California (PRWEB) June 15, 2014 -- The Science and Technology Advisory Council, Silicon Valley (“STAC-SV”), the Consulate General of the Philippines and the Philippine Trade & Investment Center are pleased to announce the second Latitude Longitude Business Conference to take place on Friday, June 20, 2014 in the newly renovated ground floor of the Philippine Center in San Francisco, California. The conference takes place during the city’s Kalayaan (Philippine Independence Day) celebration. The theme of the conference is “Resilience, Moving Forward and Giving Back” and will feature speakers and guest companies that highlight the theme. This event also serves as STAC SV’s 2014 membership launch to continue to grow its community of entrepreneurs, advisors and professionals focused on building a healthy entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Philippines and US.
Newly appointed Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. who is also one of the Philippine’s leading experts in Maritime security and the West Philippine Sea will serve as Keynote speaker. He will participate in the first two panels centered specifically on the economic and regional positioning of the Philippines as well. This year’s conference will cover the current economic state of the Philippines and the implications of the ASEAN integration in 2015 with representatives from government, academe, and private sector. The program will include a lunch performance by students of the Westlake School of Performing Arts. This will be followed by several panel discussions featuring successful Filipino-American business leaders including Tessie Guillermo, CEO of Zero Divide and Dr. Marc Loinaz, co-founder of Aeluros. We will also hear from founders and senior executives of emerging Filipino and FilAm founded companies in Business Services, Consumer, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Social Enterprise and Technology sectors including American Science Products, GroupJump, Narra Systems, OncoSynergy, One Virtual Source and VuQo Vodka. Importantly, social enterprise focused Global National Products group from the Philippines kicks off its US roadshow at Latitude Longitude with special presentations by founders of ASAM, Enchanted Farm, Global Electric Transportation (developer of the COMET vehicle), Human Nature, Klik Eskwela, and Mabuyhay Restop. The COMET vehicle, as seen by President Barack Obama in April, will be made available for viewing to the attendees.
