The Tejas Showdown is an annual event designed to help promote the positive benefits of youth sports and American football. A 10 year old & under as well as a 12 year old & under team will take the field to compete against their counterparts from Mexico. Some of the perks these youth will experience include: great physical conditioning, proper technique and skill position training and lessons in team work. This event is also a goodwill showcase between two neighboring countries. Proceeds will go towards youth sport camps and safety training in the area. The participants represent only the top level athletes from their respective locations and bragging rights are certainly on the line!
The game times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29th, 2014. All games will be played at Kelley Reeves Athletic Complex located at 10211 W. Parmer Lane, Austin, TX 78717.
General Admission - $6.00; Children 6 & under - $3.00
Andrea Cameron is a native Texan and is an avid youth sports fan and supporter. Signing on as one of the premier sponsors for the Tejas Showdown is something she is thrilled to do and proud to be part of. From personal experience with my own children, I can attest that involving them in various sporting activities has helped to instill greater self discipline and confidence in other areas of their lives. There is no doubt that when youth sports/football is done the right way, it is a very rewarding and exhilarating family activity.
