C2C Resources Releases Statement on Best Invoice Format
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 17, 2014 -- C2C Resources, a leading Atlanta-based commercial debt collection agency, released a statement and in-depth blog post concerning the advantages of e-invoicing versus paper invoicing for business’ account receivable departments.
“E-invoicing will continue to lead the way in invoice format as we move through the next decade,” explained Todd Tinkler, President of C2C Resources. “That being said, companies still need to listen to their customer’s preferred payment methods. If all communications with the customer implies that they will only pay off a paper invoice, then by all means send paper.”
Paper invoices have continued to decline from 59 percent in 2012 to 52 percent in 2013, according to PayStream Advisors’ 2013 Invoice and Workflow Automation (IWA) Benchmark Report. C2C Resources believes that many companies are turning to e-invoicing because of the reduced costs, lower carbon footprint and shorter payment cycles. E-invoicing can also provide read receipts, allowing companies to know when the customer has opened the invoice.
By emailing an invoice, it eliminates the need for stamps, paper, ink, envelopes and storage space to keep the paper invoice copies which results in increased savings for the business. E-invoicing also allows companies to cut the 1 – 3 day turnaround time that mail requires.
While some studies point out several advantages to paper invoicing, such as the fact that mail invoices tend to have a higher deliverability rate, Tinkler of C2C Resources believes that the advantages of e-invoicing outweigh them. “The cost benefits and quicker delivery are too hard to pass up,” commented Tinkler. “When invoicing any company, make sure to follow e-invoicing best practices of reminding clients to save the company’s email address to avoid the invoice going into a spam folder. With that strategy you can receive the benefits of email invoicing while minimizing the potentially negative effects.”
