Diane Vezzuto Brings Passion for Working with Seniors to New Business, Caring Transitions of Rockaway
Rockaway, NJ (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- Diane Vezzuto always loved working with seniors, but she put that passion on a shelf when she decided to stay home to raise the two children she had with her husband, Frank. But as her children got older, with her oldest graduating high school this year, she was faced with a decision. What was next?
Vezzuto has gone back to her roots and opened Caring Transitions of Rockaway, New Jersey.

“I’ve been a stay-at-home mom while we raised our two sons – Michael and Nicholas – and about a year and a half ago my husband asked me what I was going to do next. I hadn’t thought about it and I really didn’t know. I’d thought about going back to nursing school, but I wasn’t sure that was the path I wanted to take. When we met the owners of another Caring Transitions franchise and learned about what they do, it clicked. I thought ‘That’s exactly what I want to be doing. I want to work with seniors and caregivers in my community in a way that’s helpful and rewarding.’ Caring Transitions is perfect,” Vezzuto said.
Back before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Vezzuto’s career was in social work with older adults and caregivers, specifically nursing home, adult day care, Alzheimer’s/dementia patients and the mentally handicapped. She also ran a caregiver and widowed persons support group.
“Working with seniors and caregivers is very rewarding and I’m excited to be back in that arena,” she said. “For me, this business is all about the CARING part of Caring Transitions. That’s the part that matters. The older population tends to be the forgotten generation – we often don’t recognize that, for them, the interaction and concern for their well-being is exceedingly important. At Caring Transitions of Rockaway, we will be there to care about them and their caregivers as they work through what can be a difficult time in their lives.”
In addition to the Caring Transitions tools, each franchisee is a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist, a designation bestowed by an independent organization that evaluates providers of senior relocation services. They also are trained, bonded and insured.

The Vezzuto family is involved in the Rockaway community through Boy Scouts, a variety of church ministries and fundraisers with St. Mary’s R.C. in Dover, as well as various community theaters. Together, they’ve also run a children’s musical theatre camp. Vezzuto’s sons and husband will be working at her side as the business grows. She wants to make sure people know this isn’t just a job!
