Alumnus Logan Sledge ‘00 is returning to Centenary this fall as the new Assistant Professor of Theatre.

Sledge received his BA in theatre arts from Centenary and later moved to Southern California with his wife to earn his MFA in acting at California State University, Fullerton. He went on to teach at California State University, Fullerton and at Citrus College in Glendora, California for eight years. Sledge and his wife have been back in Shreveport for six years.

“When we moved back home I wasn't sure I would get the opportunity to teach theatre arts at the college level again,” said Sledge. “I am so thrilled the opportunity came with a position at Centenary College. Marjorie Lyons Playhouse and the Centenary Theatre Department is where I truly discovered my passion for acting and my love of theatre as an art form.”

While Sledge has taught at Centenary as an adjunct professor the last few years, he looks forward to immersing himself back into the College.

“My rich experience at Centenary shaped me as an artist and as an individual,” said Sledge. “I look forward to giving the students what was given to me during my time as a student at Centenary: the training necessary to pursue a professional life in the theatre arts, and the knowledge and inspiration that comes with years of working in this great field.”

Sledge is an award winning actor and director and has studied the Stanislavsky, Svetlana Efremova, and Meisner Technique.
