Community Giving: SkinStore.com Awards Grant Monies to Sacramento Area Charities
Gold River, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2014 -- SkinStore.com, an international e-commerce specialty retailer providing sound solutions for healthy skin, has selected four area non-profit organizations to receive grant monies through their Giving Back program.
Ecommerce has changed the landscape such that any retailer can be part of a national or even global marketplace. But how does an online company maintain ties to and support its community? SkinStore.com, which operates out of the Sacramento California area figured out how. They created an Employee Giving Committee, which meets monthly in order to develop ways that SkinStore to reach those in need in their community, providing much-needed funds to area non-profit organizations that support children, adults and the disabled.
SkinStore has been part of drugstore.com (Bellevue, WA) since 2010. Embracing the drugstore.com Foundation’s mission to serve “Basic Needs and Healthy Starts” in the areas in which drugstore has physical operations (Bellevue, Washington, Gold River (Sacramento, California and Swedesboro, New Jersey), SkinStore focused on local organizations that provide physical and emotional support, mentoring, and work to improve the lives of children and adults.
Steve Brown, President of SkinStore.com, said, “The Employee Giving Committee made their decisions based on helping the largest number of people, determining that the funds would directly benefit the recipients and that the organizations are local. These grants will fund existing programs that support families in need in the Sacramento area, in the way of providing food, clothing, mentoring and support for the disabled.”
