Skydive Jersey Unveils New Facility and Aircraft for 2014 Season
Pittstown, NJ (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Skydiving in New Jersey just got bigger. With a new facility and aircraft, Skydive Jersey is ready to take on the skies and give their customers a more exciting experience than ever before.
In years past, Skydive Jersey operated out of a hangar that was just 300 square feet. While that space was adequate for the newly formed business, the company saw such great success that it has now outgrown that facility. This season, Skydive Jersey is operating from a 3,000 square foot hangar, giving everyone a bit more room to breathe.
On one end, certified parachute packers work tirelessly to fit parachutes that are 340 square feet into containers that are just 1 cubic foot. In the center of the hangar, there are drinks, snacks, and Skydive Jersey gear like t-shirts, Camelbak water bottles, and coffee mugs for sale. On the other end, there are picnic tables equipped with iPads for customers to fill out their registration forms before their appointments. Just beyond the registration area, you can see the Skydive Jersey office where staff members are waiting to assist customers.
Along with the increased space, the hangar is also located directly adjacent to the landing area at the beautiful Alexandria Air Field in Pittstown, NJ.
Skydive Jersey always welcomes spectators, and from the picnic tables just outside the hangar, friends and family members will have a great view as the jumpers float safely down to the ground. While they wait for the plane to reach altitude, there are games like ladder ball and giant Jenga as well as footballs, frisbees, and more to pass the time.
Skydive Jersey has not only upped their ground game, but their air travel as well. Through 2013, they operated a smaller aircraft that was only able to take four passengers at a time, limiting the capacity to two tandem skydivers and their instructors on each load. This year, Skydive Jersey is flying a PAC-750, which allows for five tandem skydive students and their instructors in the plane at the same time. The PAC-750 is a turbine aircraft, meaning it is more powerful and is able to fly higher than the piston-powered aircraft of years past.
This means the Skydive Jersey facility can handle more people per day because of the larger hangar and aircraft. Skydive Jersey is capable of accommodating large groups seven days a week. In addition to providing service to more customers, the PAC-750 allows them to jump from 13,500 feet, which is an altitude that was previously unattainable with the smaller aircraft. A jump from 13,500 feet rather than the standard 9,500 doubles your free fall time, bringing it from 30 seconds to a full minute, followed by a 5- to 8-minute ride under canopy back to the ground.
Chuck Owen, CEO of Skydive Jersey, commented on the new expansion, “We are dedicated to creating a memorable experience for all our tandem skydivers, and now we can bring the joy of skydiving to even more people. The new expansion is a testimonial to the great service Skydive Jersey has provided over the past years, and will provide in the future.”
