Columbia Southern University Adopts Knights as Mascot
(PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- Columbia Southern University, one of the nation’s leading online universities, is proud to announce a fantastic, historic moment: the school has adopted a mascot, the Knights!
“For years, we have been asked about a mascot,” said Director of Marketing Beau Vignes. “CSU is very proud to have the knight as our mascot to give our students and alumni a respectful image of school spirit, pride and unity.”
The online university, based in Orange Beach, Ala., has not had a mascot since it was established in 1993.
The knight, which holds a shield and sword, was chosen as a symbol of loyalty, honor and integrity. These three traits define CSU and its students and alumni. CSU displays loyalty to its students and alumni while honor lies in the students earning a degree to better themselves, family and community. Integrity is represented as CSU is a respected institution of higher learning and it is shown in the students and alumni for pursuing an education.
Vignes said CSU students and alumni will submit names for the knight mascot, which will be revealed sometime later.
CSU offers online degree programs in various fields including criminal justice, fire administration, occupational safety and health, and business administration. If you would like learn more about CSU, please visit http://www.ColumbiaSouthern.edu.
