Advantage Engineers Provides Engineering Services for New Business Center in Critical Distribution Market
Mechanicsburg, PA (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Advantage Engineers is providing engineering services for Hillwood Investment Properties’ West Hills Business Center in Weisenberg Township, Pennsylvania. The 230-acre, five building, $110-million industrial park project will provide new warehousing in a critical distribution market on the East Coast. Located in Lehigh Valley, a rapidly growing market for the warehousing, transportation, and distribution industries, West Hills Business Center has convenient access to large metropolitan cities including New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Baltimore.
In the second phase of development, having completed the construction for a 980,000-square-foot facility, two more buildings at the West Hills Business Center are entering into construction. Slated for completion during early 2015, these buildings will add approximately 667,000 square feet of distribution warehouse space to the development. West Hills Business Center will ultimately be comprised of approximately 2.3 million square feet of Class A warehouse and distribution space.
Advantage Engineers is providing construction quality assurance and materials testing during development of these buildings. These services will include soils compaction and laboratory analysis, concrete strength and flatness testing, structural steel bolting and welded connections, bituminous pavement inspection, roof construction documentation, and special inspections in accordance with the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code. The business center has plans to submit for Green building LEED certification.
